oKle is a user interface that runs on KDE and allows the user to interact with the Ogle DVD player. It is designed to provide a simple and easy-to-use interface for playing DVDs on Linux systems.
The software supports full DVD menus with both mouse and keyboard navigation. DVD bookmarks and play state information are also available. You can control the playback position with the slider and disable screensaver and DPMS during playback. oKle allows automatic playback on startup and lets you change audio channel, subtitle, and view angle.
Additionally, there's fullscreen support, the ability to take screenshots, and hard disk file play support. The preferences window allows you to set DVD device and player region, and keyboard shortcuts are available for frequently used actions. Right-clicking the mouse hides or shows the control window in fullscreen mode, and a disc information dialog and volume control are also available.
The software offers a DCOP scripting interface and supports multiple languages, including English, German, Swedish, Italian, Spanish, French, Greek, and Slovak in the UI with tool tips for UI buttons. It also uses the autoconf/automake framework to prevent any compilation problems.
To use oKle, you'll need a C++ compiler, Qt, KDE 3.x, and Ogle (minimum version 0.9.2 or greater). This release includes a DCOP interface, reorganized UI, additional key bindings, screenshot feature, improved dialogs, implemented stop button, Spanish translation, more options in preferences dialog, and more. The software also includes Solaris compile fixes, threading fixes, freedesktop.org enhancements, pass on ogle arguments to okle script, okle script now generated "the automake way," more verbose configure/install messages, and some configure fixes.
