OmegaWM is a new window manager that is currently in its early development stages.
The latest release comes with several significant additions and improvements that enhance the overall user experience. The action system has undergone a refactor, and helper classes have been added to allow for easy iteration of frames, children, and hotspots managed by the window manager instance.
A preliminary menu model has been introduced, and an Imlib2 menu renderer has been added to the latest release. Users will also be able to take advantage of the new plugin system, which comes with dependency meta-files. It is important to note that if you had a custom bootstrap file, it would need an update.
OmegaWM now forks instead of launching a thread for each screen, which is a more efficient way of managing the system's resources. Additionally, it has virtual endless viewport support, although the X/Y coordinate system of X11 may limit its use depending on the user's needs.
Lastly, the latest release has undergone some small bugfixes and changes that improve the overall user experience. OmegaWM is shaping up to be quite a promising window manager software, and we look forward to seeing how it progresses.
