The one.sh software is a script that locates and removes duplicate files and empty folders in a designated path. It offers the user the option to delete duplicates and empty folders as desired.
In addition, the user can define a specific file extension or use *.* when prompted in KDE-Dialog. However, it should be noted that any action taken when using this script is not the responsibility of the developer.
To use the script, make sure to run "chmod +x" and test it in a directory with copies of your files. For example, if you have a folder-tree with many copies of the same song, keepjustone.sh can search for and delete duplicate files by using their MD5 hash and keeping only the original file.
The script works by asking for a path and file extension, building a file with the path-information of matching files, generating a list with path and name of all multiple files, generating a second list with the duplicates only, and finally deleting all files in the second list.
The script will create multiple text-files in its working-directory, which will be deleted when the script is exited. The listings can be edited during runtime using any text editor to check or modify the deleting procedure.
Overall, I found this script to be incredibly useful in managing duplicate files on my computer. I appreciate that the developer has made efforts to reduce dialog windows and improve the usability of the script.
