A game that simulates a city in 3D.
The FreeReign codes were difficult to comprehend, and the game design wasn't compatible with my programming style. Thus, I chose to create my own free 3D city simulator game based on FreeReign's original project concepts. And that is how OpenCity was born.
This new project was entirely crafted in C++ employing standard OpenGL and SDL. OpenCity is not intended to be a clone of any existing city simulator game such as SimCity 4 from Max*s, so if you are searching for a free version of SimCity 4, you might not be satisfied with OpenCity. However, for those who enjoy exploring virtual cities, OpenCity is the perfect replacement.
As I work on it on my own time, it may not be updated often. Furthermore, OpenCity is an excellent OpenGL game programming tutorial. The resources section includes the design document, UML diagram, information on other concerns, and the micro simulators' algorithm.
