The Dental Practice Management Suite is a comprehensive software platform that enables dental clinics to manage appointments, patient records, billing, and inventory. The suite helps dental practitioners automate their workflows, streamline their operations and enhance patient care, resulting in better efficiency and productivity.
The software was created by a dentist who had an interest in computing and was completely disheartened by the existing commercial applications. Wanting to make a difference, the founder decided to write their own software, attending the 3rd DOCHS in Los Angeles for valuable insights and advice from leaders of medical open-source applications.
To develop openMolar, the author used Stani's Python Editor on Ubuntu. Currently designed as a traditional client/server setup, openMolar is built to be truly cross-platform, compatible with Linux, Mac and Windows. Rather than having to rely on specific hardware from disinterested vendors, openMolar allows your practice to choose the best hardware to run the software efficiently.
According to the founder, it is not uncommon for commercial software vendors to limit screen resolutions or only support certain types of printers, which can be frustrating and limiting. Such vendors often have a questionable business model of providing unusable software that requires expensive 24/7 support.
The goal of openMolar is simple: to provide better software for dental practices, and ultimately, for the patients of those practices. If you want a software solution that truly puts your practice first, openMolar is the way to go.
