openPlaG is a PHP-based function graph plotter accessible via web.
To run the program, you will require access to a web server that has PHP 4 or 5 and GDlib up and running. Although the compatibility of the program with lower versions of PHP4 is uncertain, it definitely works with version 4.4.1. Thus, you can try to run it on lower versions and check if it works.
Once you have downloaded openPlaG, you will receive a zipped tarball that comprises a few files. These files include `function.php` that contains the iframe content where the graph (png-image) is shown, `gnu_gpl.txt` which is the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 2, `graph.css` that holds the used style sheet, `graph.php` that calculates the graph and draws the image, `init.php` that takes care of security checks and definitions of formulae (functions), `instructions.html` that describes how to use the plotter, and lastly, `openPlaG.html` which serves as the starting point when accessing the source code. You can change its name to index.html or use your preferred filename. Further, `single.php` computes a formula with a single value, and the result is shown in the second iframe.
To use openPlaG, you simply need to upload the files on your server. Assuming that your server and PHP are properly configured, the program should function without any hitches. You can customize the program to suit your needs, though it is advised to inform the developer about any remarkable additions or improvements made. Overall, openPlaG is an excellent tool for thorough function graph plotting.
