OperaFS is a Linux software that implements the Opera file system, commonly used in 3DO CD-ROM's. It provides users with the ability to read and manipulate files from these CDs on their Linux computers.
OperaFS offers two other features: showspecial and hidespecial. The former displays directory entries such as volume labels and catapult files as normal files. On the other hand, hidespecial does not make special directory entries available. The default is hidespecial.
To use OperaFS, you need to compile your kernel sources with make and the modules available in your present working directory. Then, as root, you need to insmod operafs.ko. After that, you can mount Opera file systems just like any other file system.
This release of OperaFS brings the project up to date with the latest Linux kernel versions. Everything that was available in 1.0b2 is still functionally equivalent and now verified to work with 2.6.23.1.
