Plugmon is a simple utility for monitoring systems that requires minimal configuration.
The plugmon project can be conveniently initiated from an init script or a cronjob, making monitoring flexible and less taxing. It aims to give a minimum of false alarms, delivering only the most essential notifications to its users.
To use Plugmon, simply install the program, and call "plugmon --mailto my.mail@address" from an rc script. Alternatively, users may use it from a cronjob, and the program will check if it is already running upon calling.
Requirements for Plugmon are minimal, only requiring jelio. With the recent release, Plugmon has improved its performance and eliminated previous issues, such as being confused by RPC programs (such as nfsd). Configuration changes now work retroactively, while event timeouts now work correctly.
Overall, Plugmon is an excellent software for those in need of quick, easy, and efficient system monitoring.
