PJS is a console-based software with curses and utility applications, designed for the management of vast MP3 file collections.
One of the features that stood out to me was the PostgreSQL database that stores all the necessary information about the MP3 files. This system ensures fast and reliable access to your music collection.
The developer's reason for creating PJS was simple - to create an easy-to-use music collection. And I believe they achieved that goal with this software. Fun fact, the developer started programming in the late 1990s and has continued to work on this project from time to time.
Now, I am happy to report that the PJS has reached a level where it is ready for the public. Although not every possible feature has been implemented, the software works incredibly well.
It's worth mentioning that the PJS is licensed under the GPL (GNU Public License). Currently, the software can only be installed on computers running Debian GNU/Linux. However, the developer is seeking help to pack the PJS to other distributions in the future.
Overall, I highly recommend the Polar Jukebox System to anyone looking for an efficient and user-friendly way to manage their music collection on their computer.
