Postilion is a mail user agent software that is derived from the well-known TkRat program. It facilitates email communication for users.
The program was designed based on users' requests, with great emphasis on multi-user environments. System-wide configurations, mailboxes, and address books, as well as shared folders, are among the features supported by Postilion, although some of these features require IMAP mailboxes.
When building Postilion, it is easy to experiment with an IMAP4rev1 server. The program also supports multi-language interface, although the transition from TkRat has not been seamless. While TkRat had built-in support for English, Swedish, and Italian, Postilion currently supports translations in English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, and Swedish.
Postilion's IMAP support is robust, especially in shared folder environments. Other features subtle touches that make mail browsing a more pleasant experience. Instructions for translations are included, and contributions from interested parties are welcome. Overall, Postilion is a user-friendly program with rich functionality and excellent support for multi-user environments.
