PyCosmos is a Python script that enables SMS sending through MyCosmos, with a focus on simplicity and ease of use.
It is worth mentioning that the MyCosmos portal is IE-oriented, and it demands a cluster of JScripts that runs locally on browser for SMS sending. Until recently, the SMS option was not directly accessible in other browsers. PyCosmos was created to simplify the process of sending SMS via the MyCosmos portal by automating the script, and it worked by exploiting the "SecureHash," which was calculated by the mobile number, a salt string, and the current year.
To use this script, all you need is a COSMOTE mobile number that has activated the MyCosmos portal. This feature was common knowledge among many users who resorted to bookmarking the SMS sending webpage for Firefox usage. COSMOTE's recently changed the authentication system, and PyCosmos 0.4 was launched to address the new system. Rather than using the "SecureHash," the script required a username and password to work.
Notwithstanding, it appears that some software engineers at MyCosmos are still fond of the old, no-authentication system. As such, PyCosmos 0.31 is dedicated to them. The software requires the GTK+ version 2.2.x to function properly. Overall, PyCosmos seems to be a useful tool for anyone who needs to send SMS via MyCosmos portal.
