Pyctd is an XML-RPC tool designed for network administrators to monitor and manipulate Netfilter connections.
One of the best things about pyctd is that it's completely free and released under the GNU General Public License. If you're interested in learning more about the software's specific terms and conditions, you can check out the COPYING file for more information.
Before you can start using pyctd, however, you'll need to ensure that you have a few requirements in place. Specifically, you'll need pynetfilter_conntrack and Python installed on your system.
Once you have those requirements taken care of, you can install pyctd itself by running the command "python setup.py install" as a super-user (e.g. using "sudo"). From there, you can start using the software in accordance with the command usage text, which you can access by typing "pyctd -h."
One noteworthy feature of the latest release of pyctd is the addition of filtering for unwanted connections. If that's a concern for your network, you may find this to be a particularly useful update.
