Pyntor enables dynamic creation of presentation slides from wiki-style text markup.
The suite of programs comes with several components, including Pyntor::Slides, Pyntor::Flags, Pyntor::Pyromaniac, Pyntor::Video, and Pyntor::Blend. Users can run it in a window or fullscreen mode by using the `./pyntor` command. The startup time is incredibly fast.
Pyntor::Slides is a slide show program with features such as saving static slides, toggling fullscreen or window mode, adjusting the background brightness, going forth and back, and supporting URL and program launch. It has collaborative wiki-style markup that enables adding title pages, page titles, URLs, and images with ease. Users can switch the mouse cursor on and off or use the left mouse button to mark text.
Pyntor::Pyromaniac is an HTML browser that works on remote URLs as well. Users can scale webpages, jump to previous or next slide, and take a screenshot. The browser supports commentary about the order of HTML pages and provides history always available along with reload and page width adjustment features.
The suite has several new presentation components, including one to use POD as known from Perl files, and all components now have usage information. Pyntor-components is available to manage them, including Internet updates via the Get Hot New Stuff technology. Manual pages are added, and the documentation for component authors is revised.
Overall, Pyntor is an excellent suite of software programs with an easy-to-use interface and ample features that cater to users who want to create unconventional presentations.
