Qemu Launcher is a GTK-based front-end for Qemu, a x86 PC emulator, that is designed for GNOME.
One of the main features of Qemu Launcher is that it allows users to create and save multiple VM configurations. Additionally, it simplifies the process of creating disk images by allowing the user to do so directly from the GUI, using options such as dd, qemu-mkcow, and vmdk2raw for raw, COW, and VMWare converted images respectively.
The program also provides access to Qemu console through xterm, and stores configurations in the user's home directory in ~/.qemu-launcher. Another benefit is the ability to store disk images anywhere the user chooses.
To be able to use Qemu Launcher, the following requirements must be met: GTK+ version 2.6.x, Perl 5.8.8, Gtk2 1.121, Gtk2::GladeXML 1.005, Locale::gettext 1.05, and QEMU 0.8.1. Gzip and xmllint from libxml2 are also needed at build time.
Finally, the latest release of Qemu Launcher provides a default entry in path to 'qemuctl' and uses QCOW2 as the default image format. Overall, Qemu Launcher is a useful tool for users who require an intuitive interface to the Qemu emulator.
