QShaderEdit is a minimalistic shader editor that runs on multiple platforms. It is built with the inspiration of Apple's OpenGL Shader Builder.
In order to use QShaderEdit, you will need certain requirements including Qt 4.1, GLEW 1.3 and cmake 2.4. But once you have these in place, you will be able to take advantage of the new features added since its launch.
This includes improved support for obj files, the addition of icons, the option to set texture and scene paths to your settings, as well as an obj mesh scene plugin with mtl support. There's also a new and improved parameter panel to help you get started.
To ensure the best document handling, this release has also moved document handling to its own class. Plus, there's been a fix for the double compilation bug while improvements have been made to the rendering process. You can even save texture paths as relative paths.
In short, if you're looking for a fast and easy-to-use shader editor, QShaderEdit is a great option. Just make sure to keep in mind its early release status and the occasional bug or missing feature.
