Remove Hidden Backup is a Nautilus script that removes hidden backup files from the current directory, making it easier to manage files in Linux.
When you select the script in the current directory, Remove Hidden Backup summarily deletes all hidden backup files that often get automade when pressing save in Gedit and other applications. Interestingly, it deletes both hidden dot backup files and non-hidden ones all at once.
If you intend to add this script to the nautilus script folder, right-click on properties, go to the tab = permissions, and ensure that you, as the owner, have execute permissions or have the execute box checked. Also, it is important to note that you don't necessarily have to display the hidden backup files before deleting them. But if you do choose to display them, you will not be able to watch them get deleted, which is the only difference.
Overall, Remove Hidden Backup has made deleting pesky hidden backup files completely hassle-free. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
