San Le's Free Computational Fluid Dynamics is a software package that includes scientific applications and user-friendly graphical interfaces for fluid dynamics analysis, all available at no cost.
The GUI features of San Le's Free Computational Fluid Dynamics include a variety of control options such as hotkeys, control panels, and a full range of color analysis tools. These analysis tools include density, temperature, pressure, and velocity in each axis direction, as well as other key parameters such as enthalpy, energy, and Mach number.
Additional features include a screen dump option, toggling between solid models and wire frames, and the ability to toggle between perspective and orthographic views. The software also supports applied boundary conditions and axes, as well as enabling users to view before and after mesh, toggle mesh transparency, and use Mesa, the GNU OpenGL emulator.
This latest release sees the addition of streamlines to go with pathlines and streaklines. Additionally, the graphics code - fdpost - now has an animation mode, enabling users to both display and save the animation for 2D flows. Finally, there is an off-screen mode to create an animation without saving it or watching a real-time calculation of the flow. Overall, San Le's Free Computational Fluid Dynamics provides a comprehensive set of tools for users to undertake computational fluid dynamics analysis.
