"Save Scummer" is a Seven Day Roguelike software developed by Jeff Lait, geared towards saving progress within games.
This game boasts some great features that make it stand out from other roguelikes. One of my favorites is the "Do What I Mean" commands, which intelligently reduce all possible actions to a single keystroke. This is a huge timesaver and makes the game much more accessible for both new and experienced players. Another fantastic feature is the infinite undo, which allows you to correct any mistakes made by pressing that single keystroke.
In Save Scummer, you'll have the opportunity to fight against 52 monsters from Letter Hunt as well as one new bonus monster. But the real excitement comes from the massive variety of weapons and spells available, with 1980 different weapons and 216 different spells to choose from. With eight different races and nine different classes to play as, the possibilities for character customization are endless.
The latest release of Save Scummer includes some great updates as well. The documentation now includes information about the game's intent and various non-bug issues. They also fixed a bug where the borg would attack enemies even when blind. And for players who want even more control over the game, there's a new eXplore mode that lets you take over and manually pilot the game.
Overall, I highly recommend checking out the Save Scummer project. With its accessible gameplay, huge variety of items and classes, and frequent updates, it's a fantastic addition to any roguelike fan's library.
