SCLog is a user-friendly GNOME tool released under GPL license that aims to simplify the lives of its users.
Once you have chosen a timeout and specified the ChangeLog URL, SCLog will constantly monitor for upgrades. If upgrades are found, the icon in the tray area will change to feature a white exclamation mark inside a red spot, easily notifying you of the update. To access the upgrades, modify preferences or quit the application, simply right-click on the icon, and a menu will appear.
This tool is quite versatile and requires certain requirements: Locale::Maketext::Lexicon, Gtk2::TrayIcon, Gtk2, Gnome2::VFS, Gnome2::Canvas, Gnome2, and Glib. Ensure these requirements are met before using SCLog.
Notably, the latest release of SCLog features an improved package names parser and includes a new translation option in French, thanks to Stephane Roy. These updates make SCLog an even better tool for Linux enthusiasts.
