This software provides a feature to password protect the closure of web browsers, ensuring that unauthorized individuals are unable to exit or close the application without the correct password, adding an extra layer of security for personal and confidential information.
However, it is essential to understand a few significant security issues with using this extension. Firstly, your password may be discovered or altered through the about:config URL. Secondly, it can also be modified from the secureFox options. This is because encrypted password storage is not supported in Firefox. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
If you follow the recommended configuration guide specified on our other add-on's description page, you will not face any difficulties. This configuration renders navigating to about:config impossible since there will be no address bar. Moreover, there will be no option to alter the password. Even if you managed to access the option, the initial password is mandatory to initiate any changes.
The default password is 'exit', simple and straightforward to remember. SecureFox is, therefore, a must-have add-on if you value the security of your Firefox while exiting your account.
