Silc Improved is an SILC client that operates without a graphical user interface, allowing for headless implementation of secure messaging and collaboration protocols.
Commands available in Silc Improved include joining a channel with the command '/j < channel >', leaving a channel with '/l [channel]', sending a private message with '/msg < nick > < message >', and setting the signing of messages on/off with '/set signed < on|off >'. Additionally, users can also use '/set signal_detach < on|off >' to detach sessions when SIGTERM or SIGINT is detected.
Silc Improved also allows users to start a query with another user using the command '/query < nick >'. When a query is initiated, private messages are no longer written in the master channel but instead have their own directory under $silcidr/query/$username. The client also has a command to print the users of the current channel, '/names', and it also allows users to send all other silc commands to the server directly.
Users can enjoy endless possibilities when using Silc Improved. Users have the option of using a multitail in one window and the python input shell in another window. Installation is relatively simple, requiring the user to install libsilc, use the command 'cd $sourcedir', 'make', and 'make install'.
One of the newest additions in this release of Silc Improved is its compatibility with SILC toolkit 1.1. Additionally, the code has been cleaned up, making Silc Improved an even better performing and more reliable software for users.
