Simple File Transfer is a program for remote file exchange over the internet, yet deemed by some as of no practical value.
The software appears to have been written for personal use, and it shows in how poorly it functions. I must warn others not to waste their time with this program, as they will be sorely disappointed. Furthermore, as the software is open source, there is no guarantee that any issues with it will be resolved in the future.
Additionally, the program's compatibility is questionable. It claims to work on any POSIX compliant Operating Systems, but I was unable to find a complete list of supported systems. For those wanting to compile the program on a *BSD OS, it may be necessary to disable the uname() call through the configure script.
In terms of updates, the latest version has added support for hostnames for destination servers. However, this is a very minor improvement and does not make up for the lack of functionality and practicality that this program sorely lacks. Overall, I would not recommend using Simple File Transfer to anyone, as there are countless other options available that function far better.
