SimpleLogBook is a straightforward pilot's logbook software that enables users to keep track of flying activities.
In the long term, SimpleLogBook plans to incorporate add-ons such as filters to limit the flights displayed, the ability to associate more complex data, specifically photos, with each flight, and a function to print the record book. Running the application is straightforward; click on the icon, and the primary flight window will be displayed upon startup. Logbooks can be created, loaded, and saved via the file menu, while the flights menu offers the functionality of adding, deleting, and editing flights.
Right-clicking on the flights table will duplicate the menu, providing quick access to the menu's features. The new/edit flight dialog contains all the fields found in a standard paper logbook. Fields such as the pilot's name, aircraft type, departure and destination airports, and other standard fields are readily available. Saving changes made is as simple as clicking OK; clicking cancel will undo any unsaved changes.
SimpleLogBook's only requirement is the installation of Qt 4. In the recent update, the application includes a "duplicate" function that creates a new flight using an existing one as a template. Additionally, the text fields in the flight dialogue now have an auto-complete feature, and minor UI glitches have been fixed. In conclusion, SimpleLogBook is a simple, uncomplicated logbook that is easy to use, even for novice pilots.
