Single Source Information Server offers a collection of applets to help distribute information from one source efficiently.
The first part of the project entails creating PHP pages that can be used to edit the information inside tables. This will also provide the first bi-directional applet which will allow users to sync data between the server and the PHP pages. This feature has been completed and is working well.
The software has other features such as the ability to export data which can be used with the file link feature in HotSync. There is also a bi-directional PDA sync that allows users to sync data between the server and PDA devices. Users also have the ability to print single address labels onto a Dymo/CoStar label printer, print envelopes, and create a mail-merge export for letters.
The software will also allow for writing of QuickBooks timer exports for the datebook and import/export of vCal, iCal, and vCards, provided the specification is provided.
This release has fixed several bugs and added functionality, including the long-awaited LDAP functionality. The developers promise a major rewrite of the coldsync conduits after this release, so the next release will be an alpha release of Version 0.2.
To sum it up, Single Source Information Server is an impressive software that has proven itself efficient in synchronizing data between different systems. It is highly recommended for anyone looking to streamline information sharing within their organization or personal use.
