SKaz is a SuperKaramba dashboard designed for Azureus, a popular Bittorrent client.
Some of its key features include a graphical progress bar that enables users to start, stop and remove downloads with ease. SKaz also displays estimated time of arrival for downloads, upload rate for seeds, and total download/upload rate for Azureus.
Moreover, SKaz allows users to access detailed information about a particular torrent by clicking on its health icon. Additionally, users can open the downloaded file or directory in their preferred application by clicking on the torrent name.
To enable SKaz's functionality, users must enable "Use generic classes" under advanced settings in the configuration of the XML over HTTP plugin. However, the plugin requires Azureus 2.4.0.0 and PyKDE to run effectively.
Users must also have the following software installed: SuperKaramba >= 0.37 (KDE 3.5.0), PyQt >= 3.14.1, ImageMagick >= 6, XML over HTTP plugin for Azureus (set to full mode), DOPAL >= 0.55, Azureus >= 2.3.0.4 (running in the background) and PyKDE (optional for click-to-launch functionality).
Once all requirements are met, users can start Azureus in the background, and SKaz will automatically adjust its position on screen. However, users can change this behavior by setting the layout options to Manual in the config dialog. Additionally, clicking on the health smiley will show/hide additional controls.
In the latest release, SKaz has fixed a bug that caused the software to fail when torrents with errors were present. The new update also changed the default positioning policy to manual.
Overall, SKaz is highly recommended for torrent enthusiasts who would like to have quick, easy and convenient access to Azureus controls. Its intuitive design and user-friendly interface make it a valuable tool for downloading files.
