Smart Installer is a script that installs SMART, its dependencies, and associated KDE components on Suse Linux. It automates the installation process to simplify and streamline the process.
Installation is easy, simply download the script, make it executable (chmod 755 install_script.sh), and run it as root from the command line (su -c ./smart_install.sh). In the installation process, ensure you say yes to any prompts, and once complete, a working SMART setup will be installed, along with default susewiki package repositories, a KDE service menu for all RPM packages, and a KDE applet (ksmarttray) that monitors package updates.
SMART also provides a user-friendly GUI to simplify the installation of new applications. Requirements for this installation include kdebase version 3.0 or higher.
Smart Installer's latest release includes new features such as heightened version support and error checking, based on valuable feedback from users. Thanks to the contribution of Pascal Bleser and his script for providing new ideas and code.
Although this release has not been tested on all versions of Suse Linux systems, if any problems should arise, please report them to us.
