S.M.A.R.T. Linux is a bootable floppy distribution tool that includes smartmontools for IDE/SCSI hard disk monitoring.
The current version of S.M.A.R.T. Linux is based on Kernel 2.4.26, uClibc 0.9.24 and BusyBox 1.00 official release, built on Slackware 10.0. The latest release includes a number of enhancements, such as updated BusyBox to version 1.00, cleaned BusyBox messages, added e3 editor, fixdisktable, gpart, dd_rescue, disc-recovery-utils, and disktype.
Additionally, S.M.A.R.T. Linux now includes basic SCSI support, selectable video mode, FAT & NTFS support, sfdisk and rescuept from util-linux-2.12a, fwipe and wipe for secure deleting, updated motd, mount of ramdisk, binaries packed with UPX, conversion of man pages to txt, and cleaning of echo messages.
To make the user experience more enjoyable, this latest version of S.M.A.R.T. Linux has also added a doc script for documentation files and removed certain BusyBox features like dd, fdformat, fdisk, grep, hdparm, sed, and sync, while adding vi and uptime.
