The TB Header Tools Extension enables users to make alterations to message header information.
Moreover, users can easily revert changes by putting the value back to what it was before, and the text color will automatically return to black. Headers that users prefer to remove from the message will appear disabled, and the user can click on the header's name to remove it.
It is also important to note that users can only remove headers that contain "X-", as messages should always have the necessary headers such as To, Date, and Subject. Header ordering is handled through a user preference, where users can specify their preferred header order.
Users can add a list of headers they do not want to see at all by inserting them into the preference. The extension uses an algorithm that matches headers that contain the first few letters of the items in the user preference. Therefore, if headers such as X-Spam-Status or X-Spam-Level are included in the user preference, they will be ignored in the message.
The extension also ignores headers for safety reasons, including Received, Message-ID, X-Account, X-UIDL, X-Mozilla, and Delivered. Users can also add new default headers such as X-Categories, X-Keywords, and X-Free, which will appear in the dropdown box.
Overall, the TB Header Tools Extension is a reliable and effective tool for users who need to modify header details on their Thunderbird account. It is compatible with Thunderbird from version 0.5 all the way to 1.0+.
