Test Extension is a Firefox extension gives you the possibility to "hack" the Firefox extension versioning system and to test your favourite extension while waiting for the update. When you install new version (stable/beta/alpha) of Firefox, some of your extensions will not work as they are not compatible with the browser version.

This mechanism relies on the information "em:maxVersion" stored in the "install.rdf" file (each extension has one). Test Ext gives you the ability to change this information with the current version of your browser (providing a backup of the original content). After a restart, you can reuse and test your extension.
