ThunderBayes is a Thunderbird extension that allows seamless integration of SpamBayes into the email client, making it easier to filter spam messages efficiently.
ThunderBayes came to life from the creator's past experience with SpamBayes and frustration with Thunderbird's spam filter. The built-in spam filter was not effective enough to make it usable for a long time. The creator immediately looked for ways to integrate SpamBayes with Thunderbird, but there was only an old rumor. Therefore, ThunderBayes was created to integrate SpamBayes with Thunderbird in the most efficient manner.
This extension not only simplifies the training procedure but also improves spam classification results. ThunderBayes is a straightforward way to manage spam in Thunderbird without putting yourself through browser-based training mechanisms that require you to classify spam twice. All you need to do is Install and configure the SpamBayes proxy and install Thunderbird 1.0 - 2.0b2 and configure your email account(s) to use the proxy.
In terms of updates, this extension has recently improved the toolbar button, allowing messages to be marked as ham or spam regardless of their actual spam status. It added "Move on mark as ham" feature, which moves messages to Local Folders Inbox by default, and two new columns to the message list - Spam Status and Spam Probability. ThunderBayes now uses the X-SpamBayes-Classification header to determine spam status, and it is compatible with Thunderbird 2.0b2.
To sum up, ThunderBayes is an exceptional extension that simplifies the frustrating process of managing spam in Thunderbird. Try it out and see how it works.
