The Tiny ERP Web client is an interface built using Turbogears/AJAX technology for Tiny ERP, an enterprise management software.
To get started, you will need to have the following requirements installed on your system:
- Tiny ERP Server (Latest trunk)
- TurboGears 1.0.1
- matplotlib 0.90
To install the Tiny ERP Server, please follow the instructions provided in the official Tiny ERP Installation guide. Then, install TurboGears 1.0.1 by following the instructions in the official TurboGears installation guide. Finally, install matplotlib 0.90 using the provided INSTALL instructions.
Once you have everything installed, download the latest eTiny! from the Tiny ERP download area. Extract the sources and open the `config/app.cfg` file, making the appropriate changes, such as:
- `tiny.server = "localhost"`: defining the Tiny ERP server on the specified server
- `tiny.port = 8070`: setting the port on which Tiny ERP server is running
- `tiny.protocol = "socket"`: determining the protocol to be used (socket, http, or https)
There is also a configuration file available at the top-level directory named `dev.cfg`, which provides development specific configurations. To learn more about development and production environment configurations, refer to TurboGears documentation.
As this is the first beta of the eTiny!, development configuration is provided by default. To start the eTiny! embedded server, run the `start-tinyerp.py` script from the command line. If everything is done correctly, you should see something similar to:
```
cd /path/to/etiny
./start-tinyerp.py
2007-06-11 20:10:34,268 cherrypy.msg INFO CONFIG: Server parameters: ...
```
Now open your favorite web browser and navigate to the provided URL. You should see the welcome page with a login screen. Note that the Tiny ERP Server must be running for the Web client to function properly. To create a database, click on the `Manage` button next to the Database selection box in the DBAdmin interface. Use the credentials `admin/admin or demo/demo` to log in and check out the eTiny! in action.
