Tmxxine is a Linux OS that uses Puppy Linux 2.01 as its base.
One of its key features is its inclusion of all standard puppy software, such as WP, Spreadsheet, Browser, editors, painting, vector editor, email, ftp, chat etc. This ensures that users have all the standard software they need to carry out their tasks.
Another notable feature is the Voice Synthesis. Although the Operating system is not currently singing to you, the Symphony code is being used. "Flinger" is being considered for future versions. By right clicking on an icon and opening it as text, users can listen to their computer say what they want.
Tmxxine also includes Audacity sound editor, which is very stable and also available for Windows. Additionally, the software has Xara graphics which are 50% complete and very usable. Unfortunately, the enclosed nightly build is unstable for stable versions, users can try it here∞.
Also included is the NVU WSIWYG HTML editor. This tool is an upgrade of composer and is more powerful than its predecessor. Tmxxine has made a commitment to create its documentation in wiki format.
Tmxxine includes 007 blowfish single file encryption, which only works on single files and is only two lines of code. Furthermore, it has Java, which is widely used and is the third most important language after C and C++. It allows users to access java enabled web sites. Additionally, it has extra codecs for viewing movies through the Internet.
Other features include Mplayer, which users should be careful with, as it crashed the system when used from within the dotpup menu. Tmxxine also includes VYM, which is a Mind mapping thought generation tool, Tuxcard for organizing bits of information, and Xfce Window manager. To shut down or exit to prompt, users can type xwin xfce. To return or reboot Xfce, users can type xwin jwm.
Overall, Tmxxine is a solid Linux distribution that provides users with all the necessary tools to carry out their tasks effectively.
