TouchFreeze is a software that helps to disable button click events while typing by docking itself in the system tray of KDE/Gnome.
The TouchFreeze project is similar to ksynaptics, but it is more simple. There are some differences between the two programs, which include no configuration of the touch pad and ksynaptics ranks high on powertop, thus needing Xevie Extension to be enabled in xorg.conf. But unlike ksynaptics, TouchFreeze has no additional dependencies but Qt4 and libXevie.
To use this program, you need to have the following requirements installed in the system: Qt4 and Xevie header.
The latest update of TouchFreeze involves the addition of GPL3 license to each source file, which is important for packaging. Overall, TouchFreeze can be a useful tool for those who want to disable button click events while typing, without having to go through complex configurations.
