Tuner is a Java program enabling users to tune diverse musical instruments through their PC.
Once you have made your selection, play the note and observe the display. The yellow markers on the display will form a spike centered on the middle white line if the string is in tune. If the spike is too far to the left, the string is tuned too low, and if it's too far to the right, the string is tuned too high.
Tuner has three white lines in total, with the center one being the target. Each white line represents a semitone, so the application makes it easy for you to tune to one semitone either side of the normal tuning. The grey lines are spaced at 1/8th of a semitone intervals.
The software also has an advanced feature that allows you to tune other instruments and notes. To use this feature, you can edit the instruments.xml file, and you're good to go. Tuner is an excellent, simple, and highly efficient tuning software that every musician or music enthusiast should have.
