Twocan offers an ewtoo-style chat server for users.
Compiling the code was simple - all I had to do was navigate to the src/ directory and type ./unixmake. Then I was asked to type "site" followed by "return" at the prompt. When you first start up the program, it comes up on a "random" port, which it will display on the screen. However, it's easy to change this (and most other settings) using the "configure" command as an admin after logging on.
To become a higher admin character, all you have to do is log on as the name "root" and type "su" twice. The name "Root" is the value of player_name_admin in the configure command, but you'll want to change it. Creating a system room requires granting a character the system room priv and then running the commands "room system_create" and "configure room_main" (the last command makes the room the default main room).
Overall, my experience with Twocan was very positive. The server is easy to configure, and the ability to change settings using the "configure" command is very helpful. I did encounter a few minor issues (such as a spelling mistake in backups_run.in), but these didn't affect the server's performance. If you're looking for a reliable and customizable chat server, give Twocan a try.
