Viki/Deplate is a Vim-based personal wiki software.
In minor wiki mode, typing ":VikiMinorMode" highlights all wiki names and URLs. Moving the cursor over a wiki name lets you press < c-cr > to jump to the referred page or create a new one. To return to your starting document, press < LocalLeader >vb. Alternatively, you can use < m-leftmouse > and < m-rightmouse > to move back and forth. You can also configure hyperlink markup to suit your needs. Typing ":VikiMinorModeLaTeX" turns a LaTeX document into hypertext.
To use the full wiki mode, set "filetype" to "viki". It has all the functions of the minor mode and adds syntax highlighting, folding support, and additional key bindings. Adding the line "au BufRead,BufNewFile *.viki set ft=viki" to a configuration file associates the viki mode with some file extension. A wiki is a simple way of creating interlinked hypertexts. It starts with creating a directory and a master file containing references to various sub-pages. Viki/deplate allows basic markup like headings and emphasized text (emph{text} in LaTeX translates to __text__ in Viki/deplate).
You need Vim, tlib, and Vimball to install this plugin. Download the vba file, open it, and enter ":so %". The plugin requires filetype plugins. Your .vimrc file should contain these lines: "set nocompatible", "filetype plugin indent on", and "syntax on". For more details on customization, read "|viki-customization|".
