VitalSigns offers a convenient software for tracking report information over a period, with a user-friendly interface.
The latest release of VitalSigns comes with several improvements and bug fixes. Firstly, MessageFormat was causing errors by not being formatted for numbers and using them for generating SQL. This has been rectified in the latest release. Secondly, the DashboardReport was storing data unnecessarily, which has now been fixed.
Another issue was caused by using a simple trigger instead of a cron trigger, causing reports to not run at the exact minute they were supposed to. This has been resolved in the latest release, along with the SqlDataDaoTest failing due to a merge error.
The ReportRatioLogger module was also improved as it was previously looking at the wrong side of the data array. Fixed templated reporting to address data retrievers not being cloned when reports were. This led to all cloned reports using the same retriever causing issues.
Furthermore, the return null was introduced rather than zero from NO_OP_DATA_RETRIEVER. So, reports with no configured data retriever would not log erroneous "zero" data points every time they were invoked. Lastly, there were issues with compiling it with JDK less than 1.5, resulting in a compile error in ReportRatioLogger. This has also been resolved in the latest release, making the software more compatible.
Overall, VitalSigns is a highly recommended application for log reporting and data presentation with the latest release improving and rectifying the issues faced in the previous versions.
