Voyage Linux is a custom-built Debian Sarge-based operating system that is designed to provide a lightweight and secure platform for network devices and embedded systems.
To begin with, Voyage Linux is based on Debian Sarge r3.1 and uses a 2.6.8.1 kernel. Additionally, its drivers include prism54, hostap, madwifi, ipw2100, and rt2400. The hostapd and wpa_supplicant from sarge are also included as part of the software.
ToDO is a list of further improvements for the software including: improving installation scripts to allow different flavor for building a customized distro, scripts for setting up network configuration, including more wireless drivers like ipw2200, rt2500, etc., further decreasing in size, adding a light-weight web server (thttpd + PHP) for system configuration, a bootable CD with voyage installer, pxeboot support, and more software features like zebra/quagga, OpenVPN, FreeSWAN, traffic shaping/QoS, Asterisk/VoIP, etc.
In conclusion, Voyage Linux is an excellent software for those who need a Debian-based distro with great performance and reliable wireless support. Its advanced features and ease of use make it an ideal choice for an embedded system. Overall, I would highly recommend this software for anyone who needs a powerful and efficient operating system for their embedded device.
