vSQLmail connects MySQL and vpopmail through its software, facilitating seamless communication between the two platforms.
This software allows you to use MySQL for creating vpopmail accounts. It is advantageous for people who do not use the MySQL support of vpopmail and who do not want to migrate. vSQLmail verifies MySQL tables sometimes and opens a socket, where you can connect with PHP and others to force reload.
Installation of vSQLmail can be a bit challenging. Firstly, it's important to note that this program is in alpha pre-version, so it is not advisable to use it in production, as many things could still be changed in the future. After installation, it is recommended to send an email to [email protected].
To configure vSQLmail, one needs to edit config.h and change the value to suit their system, and also block the port of vSQLmail with iptables for all other IP that isn't util. As for the makefile, changes may be required for the mysql .h file path. Compiling vSQLmail may prove to be the most difficult task, as you may have a warning for pthread_create, but it's advised not to pay attention to this.
For add vSQLmail to your MySQL, use phpMyAdmin, or type 'mysql -u -p < tables.sql' (change user and db by your relevant information).
