Wi.Ser is a server-side GUI framework that facilitates building Swing and Web apps, featuring a GUI builder.
The mixed deployment mode is a standout feature of the framework, enabling one server to serve both Swing clients and Web clients simultaneously. An XML markup language facilitates the definition of an application's GUI, while a common widget-based, object-oriented programming interface helps developers control and assemble the GUI without having to struggle with HTML, JavaScript, and HTTP requests or understanding the internals of Swing such as Drag&Drop implementation.
For Swing client/server applications, WiSer takes care of the client/server split, as well as the client/server communication, including compression and security layers. The framework covers the functionality of the Swing widget set widely, and sometimes even enhances it, in both the Swing and Web/HTML client channels.
To make the process even more intuitive, the project comes with a WYSIWYG GUI-builder that harnesses the complete power of the WiSer-framework technology.
Overall, WiSer serves as an essential tool for developers looking to make their applications more dynamic and responsive while providing them with a powerful way to control and assemble their GUI.
