Wmcalc is a basic 64x64 pixel calculator software that can perform all the essential mathematical operations.
Wmcalc should work with any window manager. However, if you're not familiar with some of them, you can check them out in the links section. Installation is straightforward. Start by untarring the file and then go to the source directory. Compile it, and then copy the config file. Finally, place the executable somewhere in your path and run it.
Users can grab the appicon and move it to the dock. There is a note regarding the appicon, which only has a two-pixel border where you can grab and move it. It is easiest to grab along the bottom edge. If make doesn't work, you may need to fiddle with the settings in the Makefile. The software has been tested with WindowMaker-0.62.1 X Clients on Red Hat 6.0, Kernel 2.2.8.
Usage is simple too. Users can use the predefined buttons to perform calculations. There are several button functions, including the Reinitialize the calculator, Clear all memory registers (0..10), Clear the current number being entered only, and much more. Additionally, one can store displayed numbers in memory location [0-9] and perform functions shown on the buttons.
In terms of updates, this release comes with added "Locked" memory capabilities via config file, general code clean-up, and keyboard support, which may not be platform independent. Overall, the Wmcalc makes calculations easy to perform, even for individuals with no technical backgrounds.
