XPilotFoto is a user-friendly graphical interface for using pilot-foto, a tool found in the pilot-link package. This software simplifies the process of editing and managing photos on your device.
1. Installing new photos to Palm:
First, import the photo to the list for installation using the "File/Import" menu. Next, synchronize lists of photos on your PC and Palm by pressing the Sync button on your Palm and selecting the menu "File/Sync photos list". This step generates a list of photos absent on your Palm. Finally, install the new photos by pressing the Sync button on your Palm and choosing the "File/Install new photos" menu. This action installs the photos from the list created in step 1.2 to your Palm.
2. Fetching a photo from Palm:
To fetch the photo to a temporary directory, use the "File/Fetch photos from palm" menu. This action will retrieve the photos from your Palm to the XPilotFoto data directory. Then, export the photo from the temporary directory to your preferred directory using the "File/Export" menu.
3. Scaling photos:
XPilotFoto also allows you to scale your photo to sizes of 160x160 or 320x320 before installing it on your Palm. Simply select the "File/Scale photo" menu to perform this action.
4. Configuring XPilotFoto:
Use the "Options" menu to configure XPilotFoto. For instance, you can set the port of your Palm device, as well as the number of attempts of executing the command pilot-foto and the delay between these attempts. These two options become necessary for systems with udev since the ttyUSB* device only appears after pressing the sync button on a Palm device for a few moments.
Overall, XPilotFoto is an excellent choice for any user who needs an easy-to-use tool for managing photos on their Palm device.
