Yadex is a software for X that enables the user to edit levels (wad) on Doom, Doom II, and Heretic games.
Yadex is descended from DEU 5.21 which makes it a low-level editor that requires you to take care of a lot of details. However, it offers advanced functions that DEU didn't have to make tedious tasks easy. So, you get a lot of customization options without compromising on quality.
In the latest release of Yadex, the configure script has been updated to autodetect the C and C++ compiler that is being used. You can force a particular value by using the --cc and --cxx options. Minor warningectomy has been done, along with initialisation of pointers, object info box handling improvements, and highlighting of the objects.
The linedef object info box now lists any superimposed lines (up to seven), while the vertices, sectors, and things do not have such a feature. The highlight of objects has also been updated, so the highest numbered object is highlighted now, while earlier it was the lowest-numbered one. This change only affects vertices, linedefs, and things, while the sector code remains unchanged.
In conclusion, Yadex is an excellent software for editing levels, and with these latest updates, it has become even better. It's easy to use, and you get to control the game as you want. So, download Yadex today and create the levels of your dreams!
