ZenTwitter is a script for Twitter that allows users to update their account without the need to have a browser window open constantly. It is a simple and convenient tool for active Twitter users.
To install ZenTwitter, simply copy the file into your ~/bin directory and edit it to include your Twitter username and password. Then, make it executable with the chmod a+x command and add a launcher icon to your chosen window manager's panel, menu, or desktop.
The main script uses the variables URL, ZENITY, and CURL to interact with Twitter's API. Before it can run, ZenTwitter checks to see if zenity and curl are installed on your system. If not, ZenTwitter will return an error and prompt you to install the missing dependency.
To use ZenTwitter, enter your tweet message into the prompt that appears after running the script. If you accidentally hit cancel or leave the message blank, ZenTwitter will prompt you again until you enter a message.
Finally, ZenTwitter will update your Twitter status with the message you entered using the curl command. If the update is successful, ZenTwitter will return an info message to let you know. If there is an error, ZenTwitter will provide an error message to explain what went wrong.
