ZUPS software enables users to monitor the condition of multiple UPS equipment.
One of the unique features of ZUPS is that it can execute custom shutdown commands for an arbitrary number of remote hosts with a delay specified for each host. This feature ensures that critical processes are safely shut down in case of power outages. Additionally, if the UPS devices are running out of battery power, the specified commands can run immediately without delay.
Custom plugins can be easily added to ZUPS, allowing for more robust monitoring and checks. This flexibility makes it ideal for businesses and organizations with complex power management needs.
ZUPS is compatible with any RFC 1628 (UPS MIB) compliant UPS device and is written in C. It should compile and run on Linux or any other recent UNIX-like operating system. To run ZUPS, users need the Net-SNMP library, version 5.0.5 or newer.
In the latest release, ZUPS has several valuable upgrades. Autoconf now sets the pathnames used in the shutdown script, and a problem within the zupsd-init script preventing it from working with bash has been resolved. With these upgrades, ZUPS is more versatile than ever before.
