Air Traffic Controller is a simulation software that helps users experience the responsibilities and intricacies of an air traffic controller, allowing them to manage air traffic and ensure safety in a controlled virtual environment.
Airtraffic runs on Python, Corba, and GTK, so you need to have these software installed in your system before you can start playing. Also, you must meet the software requirements, including python (2.1.1), gnome, orbit (comes with Gnome), gtk (comes with Gnome), libglade (comes with Gnome now, I think), python-orbit, python-gtk, and python-gnome.
One of the latest updates to this game is the Server mode, which allows for automatic meta-server connections when the simserver is unable to connect to any. Other changes include the addition of order processing, where planes respond to orders sent by clients, as well as the gradual change in height and direction.
On the Client side of things, this update comes with several new features, including the Control Window, which allows you to control planes by sending easy-to-understand "order" messages to the sim-server. Should the client fail to connect to a meta-server, it now comes with the option to start one.
Also, this new update brings generalized dialog window construction, an abstract window class with registration and "hide when closed" methods, among others, giving users the full spectrum of command over the game. Finally, users can enjoy an about box, adding to the aesthetics of the game's user interface. So, if you're keen on air traffic control games, give Air Traffic Controller project a try.
