DVD-Baker software helps convert image collections into DVD format through a suite of small programs.
One of the standout features of DVD-Baker is its compatibility with web galleries such as the Menalto Gallery G2. This enables you to store your images online and easily create DVDs from them.
DVD-Baker has evolved from a brute-force hack script to a php/bash combination that allows you to bake your DVD on a computer other than your webserver. It offers a range of features, including a menu system based on the root and branch albums/folders, slideshows made from the images in each leaf album using dvd-slideshow, and subtitles for each image that are switchable.
The program also boasts customisable image durations and transition effects, autoplay after menu timeout plays each slideshow sequentially, and even a random autoplay option if using dvdauthor 0.6.12. There's also an options menu (optional) for toggling subtitles, autoplay and repeat modes, and support for both NTSC or PAL video formats.
To use DVD-Baker, simply prepare the recipe (g2-dvd-recipe.php needs to be placed in the base directory of your G2 site), bake the ingredients by running dvd-baker, and then burn the DVD using your preferred burning application.
This latest release of DVD-Baker features a number of important updates, including the ability to specify the gallery album to bake and the ability to specify an album to use to create a DVD leader. The program also includes a new optional Options Menu System, which allows you to toggle options such as subtitles, autoplay, and repeat during playback.
If you're looking for powerful, easy-to-use software for creating DVDs from your image collections, DVD-Baker is definitely worth checking out!
