AniMplayer is a user-friendly software with graphical interface that relies on MPlayer for playing different media formats.
Before you install AniMplayer, make sure that you meet the system requirements. It needs Mono version 1.2.5 or newer and MPlayer. Once installed, you can start enjoying AniMplayer's features.
What's even better is that this release of AniMplayer includes experimental Unix support with Mono 1.2.5 or later.
When it comes to functionality, AniMplayer doesn't disappoint. You can easily play video and audio files opened by the play File dialog in the menu, and you also have access to predefined window sizes.
For those who enjoy customized settings, AniMplayer offers keyboard settings, help, and handling. It's also easy to play, stop, and seek through your media files. You can adjust the audio, subtitle tracks and settings, and video settings. And, if you need to view MPlayer output, AniMplayer can easily show you that.
However, there are a few things that AniMplayer can't do. The playlist and playlist order need a rewrite, and you can't pause your media files. Additionally, you can't associate file extensions with AniMplayer. If you want to resize the general window or use fullscreen with Compiz Fusion under kde with XGL with ati x700, it won't work.
Overall, AniMplayer is an excellent multimedia player that's well worth trying out.
