AudioPlayer screenlet provides seamless control over your audio player, without the need to manually open the player application.
Please note that while this is the first public release, it does come with some limitations. Specifically, searching and finding in your playlist is not yet implemented, so attempting to enter anything into the search box won't yield any results. Also, after applying settings for MPD, you will need to restart the Screenlet in order for changes to take effect. However, these issues are on the developer's todo list for future updates.
It's also worth noting that AudioPlayer is a Screenlet, which means it's part of a larger set of independently-developed widget applications that run on an engine specifically designed for this purpose. This engine is primarily intended for use with X11-based compositing window managers, particularly the Compiz architecture under Linux.
Until version 0.0.14, Screenlets were exclusively scripted using Python and drawn in SVG. However, more recent updates have added support for web widgets, which are written in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, similar to the widgets used in Apple Inc.'s Dashboard feature.
Overall, AudioPlayer is an excellent tool for anyone who wants to have full control over their music. While it does have some limitations at this time, the developer's planned updates promise to bring even more functionality and convenience to this powerful Screenlet.
