ColEm is an emulator for the ColecoVision videogame console, allowing users to play their favorite games on their computer.
ColEm is written in portable C, making it compatible with a wide range of devices, including computers, game consoles, PDAs, cell phones, DVD, and MP3 players. Mr. Fayzullin even asserts that ColEm will work on digital cameras. If your company considers using ColecoVision emulation in its products, ColEm's source code can be licensed from Mr. Fayzullin.
The latest release of ColEm, version 2.4, comes with several new features, including support for UIQ3-based smartphones from Sony Ericsson and Motorola. Despite only having access to one UIQ phone - the MotoRIZR Z8 - Mr. Fayzullin is requesting that anyone with a UIQ3 phone test ColEm-UIQ and report any problems. Additionally, he added a better "soft video" and scanline simulation mode, and multiple stability fixes in ColEm-Symbian (S60 version). Currently, ColEm supports both standard and SuperAction controllers, as well as spinners that can be controlled with mouse movement. Finally, Mr. Fayzullin also mentioned that he's started working on adding Coleco Adam emulation, although it's not yet complete.
